I've been running on empty dreams
Of a million might have beens
I've been turning the textbook pages
Wondering what I'm supposed to know
I've been counting the stages that I have been through
And the ones left to undergo
Pray to God that you take it slow
Back to the time and place where love began
Into the empty space I need to start again
In a prelude to a world of crystal fantasy
There's an ache I long to make into a sigh
Then overdose on blank romantic poetry
And let the hollow season pass me by
